Joseph Wept & Reassured

'When Joseph's brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, "Perhaps Joseph will hate us, and may actually repay us for all the evil which we did to him." So they sent messengers to Joseph, saying, "Before your father died he commanded, saying, 'Thus you shall say to Joseph: "I beg you, please forgive the trepass of your brothers and their sin; for they did evil to you."' Now, please forgive the trepass of the servants of the God of your father." And Joseph wept when they spoke to him.' -Genesis 50:15-17

It hurted Joseph so much to see that they dwelt in the past. Joseph gave everything to them. Joseph loved them. And yet he perceived that they overlooked his love for them. So he wept. Sometimes we love our friends, family, and co-worker that we would give everything for them. Yet they don't perceive. Our hearts simply felt heavy.

Joseph was pained by the evil schemes. He was pained that their brothers choose to believe in them rather than in Love. He was pained that there is nothing that he could do, until their eyes were opened. What can he do?

All he can do is reassure them, "Don't be afraid, for am I in the place of God? But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive."

What can we do? Reassure them.
