Be Strong, Sons and Daughters (Joshua 1-2)

"Be strong and courageous, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land that I swore to their father to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord you God is with you wherever you go."

What does it means to be strong and courageous? I think it means believing that God will keep his promises and make them happen! God is telling Joshua to keep believing His promise and by his action, he led Israel into victories that God had given them. What kind of exercises did Joshua used to keep his courage at the peak? He used his mouth and brain to keep the Book of Law with him everywhere he goes to keep his courage at the peak. The Book of Law helped Joshua to remember His promises and feel encouraged everywhere he went!

Are you reading your Bible daily? Now it is a good start to jump in the Bible Reading Plan at http://fromgardentocity.com/, the spiritual discipline will help you to become strong and courageous like Joshua! I don't know what God had shown you, but I know that your Bible will be like the "walking stick". God wants to support you like the "walking stick" through His inspired scriptures as He communicates with you through those scriptures. We can talk to Him anywhere and anytime, but we need to hear from Him everyday. He loves you and wants to talk with you. How much do we want to hear from Him? How much?...
