Caleb Spirit (Num 14-16)

"But my servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit and has followed me fully, I will bring into the land into which he went, and his descendants will possess it."

Caleb and Joshua didn't let what they saw to overcome them because they knew that the Lord is way bigger than that! So they are given the promise to come into the land with their descendants just because they believed and prepared themselves to conquer the land! They had the Righteous confidence because they allowed God turn their low self-confidence into a Righteous confidence because of their obeidence.

Other ten spies allowed what they saw to overcome them, "we seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them." As consequence of their disbelieve, they later died of plagues. Also the people who followed them had to go through this formula of penalty: 1 day for 1 year. So they had to go through 40 years of wilderness, 40 years for 40 days that the spies had spied the promise land. So they had to walk around into the wilderness like those people with less confidence since they decided to follow their own confidence not the Righteous confidence that God had given them.

Do we see things around us through our own eyes or through God's eyes? Let us take our eyes away and let Him be our eyes.
