Phinehas the Pioneer (Numbers 25-26)

"And behold, one of the people of Israel came and brought a Midianite woman to his family, in the sight of Moses and in the sight of the whole congregation of the people of Israel; while they were weeping in the entrance of the tent of meeting. When Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the priset, saw it, he rose and left the congregation and took a spear in his hand... Phinehas has turned back my wrath from the people of Israel... in that he was jealous with my jealousy."

It amazed me how Moses and the whole congregation saw something wrong and didn't do anything about it! They were weeping when they saw one guy bring a Midianite to his family. Their battle wasn't finished when he took a Midianite woman! After the bloody battle, they seem to worn themselves out emotionally that they decided to do nothing when a small matter came up. But not Phinehas! He decided to do whatever it takes to see that the justice will be completed. So he stood up and left to take care of a small matter himself! Imagine yourself standing out in the congregation by standing up and walk out when everyone were watching!

Phinehas knew that he has to grief for the people and with the people, but he would rather to be with God emotionally. So, he left in "jealousy" because he knew that God was jealous! We need more people like Phinehas who will stand up when nobody will stand up and do something to receive His blessings! Maybe one of us need to walk up to the front to receive the prayer, to raise our hand up in response, to clap or wave our hands, or to do something that nobody has ever done to break down the barriers, so that the people will be able to join you!
