Preparing for a Kingdom (1 Kings 1-2)

When David King's time to die drew near, he anointed Solomon as a king and instructed him to take care of few messes that he left in this kingdom:

1. Joab the son of Zeruiah- Although Joab served David well in battles, but he was the bad influence in David's kingdom due to some of his rebellious actions. He killed Abner in revenge for his brother Asahel's death after David had make a peace with him. He also did some other rebellious actions throughout David's reign, but David kept him (a bit of dirty political here!).

2. Shimei the son of Gera -He once threw stones at David King, cursing him. He vented his anger at David King when he thought that he lost his kingdom to his son Absalom. But when Joab rebelliously killed Absalom, David forgave Shimei and allowed him to live! But he knew that his opposition to the Lord's next chosen king to the throne of Israel may continue, so he told Solomon to take care of it!

"So the kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon" came after Solomon seriously took care of those few overlooked problems! Then after he took care of those, he recognized his need for wisdom, so he started to pray for it! He didn't just pray for it, but he acted! He acted by taking care of those visible evil influences in order to establish a kingdom, then he knew that he needed the wisdom to keep those overlooked evil influences away, to protect! So his miracle came after he prepared the way!

Luke 2:40 - "And the child [Jesus] grew and became strong, filled with wisdom. And the favor [grace] was upon him."

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 - "My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I [Paul] will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me."

GRACE = His power is made perfect in your weaknesses.
