Joshua's Accountability (Joshua 11-12)

Under the leadership of Joshua, the Israel finally captured Canaan, the promise land that the 10 spies failed to encourage the people to conquer under Moses' leadership. So, now Joshua led the people to conquer the land and Caleb was able to be part of this because they both were two of twelve spies who believed!

It's strange how "just as the Lord had commmanded Moses his servant, so Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did" repeats in this chapter! When Joshua led the Israel to the victory, we learned that it is just as Moses had commanded him, he left nothing undone. Why do we need to know that? Why did God want us to know this?

I honestly don't know, but those statement just sticks! I feel like God is trying to tell us something through those statement being repeated in this chapter. In Deuteronomy 31:5, Moses said to Joshua, "And the Lord will give them over to you, and you shall do to them according to the whole commandment that I have commanded you."

I think God wants to remind us that we need to have an accountability. Just like how God has commanded Moses to teach Joshua. Moses had no one to teach him, so God taught him directly, then he taught Joshua! Like Joshua, we will need to have an accountability given to us by God. Joshua was commended for his obedience in this chapter! God was pleased that Joshua had followed Moses' commandment because God had commanded Moses! It's amazing how God build us to have that kind of relationship! Just like how God commanded Job to pray for his friends, so that they will be connected through the community! God loves to see us working together. God is the Lord of the harmoniness!
